Not really alert... By Nisar

13 July, 2012

Mr Rehman Malik has suspended officers posted at five check posts established for checking terrorist activities on different routes of Islamabad. The reason for the ouster was their inability to check Mr Malik when he passed by the check posts in a private vehicle without any protocol.

Should not Rehman Malik instead thank the suspended staff for not stopping him and letting him go without taking any chai paani (bribe)? If Mr Malik really wanted to check the alertness of the staff at the check posts, then he should have travelled on a motorbike or some rickety vehicle.
