No development, prosperity without labourers: CM Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that labourers are the backbone of national economy and the aim of setting up a healthy and prosperous society, as well as the goal of national development and prosperity, cannot be realised without their welfare. In his Labour Day message, the chief minister said that in order to set up an Islamic welfare society in the real sense, the Islamic teachings of proper behaviour towards workers and safeguarding their rights would have to be followed. He said that labourers were precious assets of the country, who keep the wheel of industries in motion. He said the Punjab government was implementing a comprehensive programme for the betterment of the working classes and had taken unprecedented measures for raising their living standard. He said that labour complexes were being constructed for the provision of shelter to workers, while in addition to provision of free treatment facilities, social security system was being improved in the interest of the labour class.
