Nine people killed in violent acts in Karachi

KARACHI: Nine people, including a child, were killed in separate incidents in city on Friday. A mother of four children was shot dead by her husband in Baloch Goth within the precincts of Orangi police station.
According to police, Gul Bano, 36, resident of the same area, was shot dead by her husband Jaffar over a petty issue. Body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy and later handed over to her heirs.
In another incident, a man was killed over a personal enmity in North Nazimabad within the precincts of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station. Police said Amanullah, 30, son of Nazarullah, resident of Block Q, North Nazimabad, was returning home when unidentified culprits opened fire on him, resultantly he received fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot. The body was moved to the ASH for medico-legal formalities.
In yet another incident, a transporter was shot dead at Teen Hatti within the precincts of PIB police station. According to police, Abdul Sattar Baloch, 35, was shot and injured by unidentified armed when he was going in his car. He died while being shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi. The incident caused panic and fear in the locality. Police officials said the motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
Separately, an aged man died mysteriously in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 4A within the precincts of Mobina Town police station. SHO Saleemullah Qureshi said unidentified man brought the body of a 50-year-old man to a private hospital. His identity was yet to be ascertained. Police shifted the body to the ASH for postmortem.
Meanwhile, body of a boy was recovered from garbage drum near Falak Naz Arcade within the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station. Police said eight-year-old Faisal, son of Abdullah, resident of the same area, was strangled to death. His body was thrown in garbage drum. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities, where his heirs took his body without completion of any legal formality.
A speeding truck killed two friends at FTC Bridge within the limits of Brigade police station. Police said Ibrahim, 17, and Sattar, 19, residents of Moosa Colony, FC Area, were on their way home when a speeding truck (KH 875) hit them to death. Police arrested the accused driver and impounded the vehicle. The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsies.
In other incident, a lady doctor reportedly committed suicide in Clifton beach within the jurisdiction of Darakhshan police station. Police said Samina Kamal, 48, daughter of Kamal Uddin, resident of Clifton Block 6, got engagement around four months ago but it broke up. After being disheartened over this, she reportedly committed suicide by drowning herself at Clifton beach.
Meanwhile, a teenage boy was killed while blowing up a firecracker in North Karachi within the precincts of North Karachi Industrial Area police station. Kashan, 14, son of Zubair, resident of the same area, blew up a firecracker that injured him. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he breathed his last during treatment.
