Nine injured as security vehicles in PM's motorcade collide

LAHORE: Nine security personnel received multiple injuries as two of the vehicles in the Prime Minister's motorcade collided after skidding on the wet and slippery Mall Road near the Lahore Canal signal on Monday.
The motorcade had been on its way back to the Lahore Airport from Al-Hamra Hall when one of the Elite Force vehicles and a mobile phone jammer-mounted one swerved on the road and piled up.
After the collision, the Elite Force vehicle sliding sideways caused injuries to six personnel, including the driver, while three personnel on the jammer-mounted vehicle were also injured.All the injured security men were shifted to the Services Hospital where they were stated to be out of danger.
The DIG of Operations, Rana Abdul Jabbar, visited the hospital to inquire after the health of the injured.The DIG told the media that the condition of the injured officials was stable.To a question, the DIG said the accident occurred because of wet and slippery road due to rain. The incident was being probed thoroughly, he added.
