Nawaz warns government against any adventurism

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said that the country cannot succumb to new adventurism, as any unconstitutional and unlawful move might harm its stability.
Talking to the media after chairing his party's consultative meeting at Raiwind, he said political impasse was persisting all over the country and at this stage "heads of political parties should sense the gravity of the situation and join hands to steer the country out of crises".
Nawaz Sharif said early elections are in best interest of Pakistan. He also berated the irresponsible and volatile attitude of the government regarding implementation of the Supreme Court verdicts.
He said the 'incumbents' were publicly flouting and insulting the verdicts of Supreme Court.
He said the government was engaged in the overprinting of currency notes, and embroiled up to necks in foreign loans.
"Meanwhile, conflicts between institutions are on the rise, while verdicts of Supreme Courts, notably that of NRO, have publicly been denounced as impractical," Nawaz Sharif said. "Had the government prudently bowed to the verdicts of the Supreme Court, things might have taken a better turn." He said the government seemed to have been all set for confrontation, and had planned for the worse.
Nawaz urged the coalition allies of the government to realise the importance of events, and respect the mandate of 180 million people by terminating their alliance with the government. The PML-N chief categorically warned both the president and the PM to avoid playing with nation's fate.
On the occasion, Nawaz avoided answering many questions posed by reporters, and exited after expressing his views.
