ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has written letters to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, urging them to play their role to end rights violations in Indian-Held Kashmir.
Sharif urged them to implement the UNSC resolutions, which provided for the right to self-determination for the people of Indian-Held Kashmir through a fair plebiscite under the supervision of the UN, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday. Sharif said that force was being used to prevent access to hospitals and harass doctors.
Chairing a meeting ahead of the UN General Assembly session at Prime Minister’s House earlier, Sharif said he was under obligation to become the voice of Kashmiris being oppressed by India. “I will leave no stone unturned to make the world understand the plight and the legitimate struggle of the people of Kashmir,” he said.
