ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday felicitated the nation on the revered day of Eid Mildun Nabi (peace be upon him) and urged the countrymen to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to fight extremist beliefs.
In a message on Eid Miladun Nabi (peace be upon him) being observed with religious zeal and zest across the whole country, he said that the basic requisite to express love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was to follow his Sunnah and teachings including unity, tolerance, fraternity, harmony and the spirit of sacrifice and reconciliation.
“The Holy Prophet (PBUH) never commanded about a single thing which he never implemented in his own life. This society will grow into an exemplary society right from the day we start practically implementing the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in our lives,” he added.
The prime minister also felicitated the nation on being fortunate to be the Ummah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who was sent by the Creator of the Universe as a blessing for all the worlds. He said that through Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty guided the humanity towards the path of success and triumph. “Islam is the religion of nature and blessings. It is the religion of tolerance, patience, religious harmony, respect, forbearance and compassion. Allah Almighty is the Creator of human nature and disposition and for the betterment of His creation; He bestowed them with the religion Islam, which is very close and compatible to the human nature. This is the best gift for the mankind,” he added.
“The personality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the true reflection of the religion of nature. The virtues of excellence that are required for the realisation of humanity have not only been taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) but also been implemented by the Prophet himself. Hundreds of instances came in the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he, instead of taking revenge, used the policy of patience, forgiveness, pardon, reconciliation and dialogue,” he said. Prime Minister Sharif also resolved that his government, which has also embarked upon the journey of prosperity, would soon be successful in achieving the goals of development.
“May Allah Almighty forgive our shortcomings and weaknesses and bless us with the benediction of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and make Pakistan a place of peace and harmony,” he prayed.
