Nawaz, Shahbaz's brother passes away

LAHORE: Mian Abbas Sharif, the brother of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, passed away on Friday at the age of 58.

According to sources in the Sharif family, Abbas was admitted to Sharif Medical Complex after he felt pain in his chest but he could not survive.

His funeral prayers were offered in Raiwind, attended by a large number of people, including politicians and government officials.

Leaders of various political parties, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Abbas.

In their messages‚ they condoled with the bereaved family and prayed to God to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

Abbas is survived by a widow, two daughters and two sons.
