NAB chief takes notice of secret ballot violation

29 December, 2012

ISLAMABAD: NAB Chairman Admiral (r) Fasih Bukhari has taken notice of the violation of secret ballot during the voting on a no-confidence motion against Balochistan Assembly Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani.

The legislators of the treasury were caught on screen showing their ballots to other members of the House before polling, in violation of the secret ballot.

A statement issued by NAB headquarters said that showing of ballots indicated misuse of authority and makes a farce of the process of the secret ballot.

"Chairman NAB has therefore instructed the DG NAB Balochistan to submit a report within seven days on the entire episode," said the statement.
