Muzakraat... By Riaz Jafri

11 February, 2014

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are asking for a cannon in the hope of getting at least a pistol in return! What did Nawaz Sharif have in mind exactly to yield to the TTP when he offered them muzakraat (negotiations)? Negotiations are always held between more or less equal parties or partners with a view to and in a spirit of some give and take?! Now that they have come up with 15 demands, can the prime minister accede to even one of them? I hope not.
