ISLAMABAD- Former president Pervez Musharraf was denied permission to travel to Saudi Arabia.

According to sources, Musharraf had made a request to visit Saudi Arabia to offer condolences over the death of King Abdullah. Musharraf's request was rejected by the Interior Ministry due to his name being incorporated in the Exit Control List, which bars people from leaving the state.

According to ministry, Musharraf had been put on the ECL after a court decision. Earlier reports had suggested government's agreement regarding the issue.
