More killed for their sect... By Arooj

03 January, 2014

Sectarianism is on the rise in Pakistan in an alarming way. Every day we hear and read reports of how one sect is targeting the members of another sect — particularly Sunni militants attacking Shias. The latest sad news is that three Shia pilgrims have been killed by a suicide bomber on Wednesday in Quetta.

This is not the first time something so awful has happened in Pakistan and it definitely will not be the last. What is most tragic is the fact that no one seems ready to do anything about it. The government authorities, the police and the courts are not willing to bring the culprits to task. It seems such incidents will keep on occurring until civil war breaks out. That may just be the devastating conclusion to all the misery we feel now.
