Mob torches two police vehicles after road mishap

KARACHI: A woman and her two children were injured when a speeding police mobile hit them on MA Jinnah Road on Wednesday, while angry mob torched the police van and another vehicle.
As per details, a speeding police mobile hit a motorcycle on MA Jinnah Road in the limits of Preedy police station. Resultantly, a woman and her two children were injured. After this road mishap enraged mob set ablaze two police vehicles. Fire tenders rushed to the scene to douse the fire.
A duty officer at Preedy police station told that a police mobile of Taimora police station and car from Clifton police station were among squad which was taking under trial prisoners to City Courts for appearing in their proceedings, when the mishap occurred.
However, the injured were taken to Civil Hospital Karachi and discharged after first aid.
