Missing person: notices issued to top officials
28 August, 2013
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to interior secretary, home secretary, director general Rangers, provincial police chief, and other respondents in a petition seeking whereabouts of a missing person.
A division bench of SHC headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam was hearing the petition filed by Sakina, who sought whereabouts of her missing son. The woman petitioner submitted that her 25-year-old son, Muhammad Javed, was missing since July 20, 2013. She said that since there was no action despite contacting the concerned police station, she has sought justice from SHC.
Sakina pleaded to direct respondents to produce her son before the court. After hearing initial arguments, the court issued notices to the respondents, and the case has been adjourned until September 19.
