Mian Israr elected SCBA president

LAHORE: Mian Israrul Haq has been elected new president of the Supreme Court Bar Association for year 2012-13 in an election on Wednesday.
According to unofficial results Mian Israr bagged 1162 votes and defeated Ahmad Awais of Professional Group who notched 875 votes. The third candidate, Barrister Zafarullah, secured only 33 votes.
Raja Javed Iqbal from Lahore has been elected secretary with 1037 votes, while his opponent, Muhammad Suhail Dar, got 835 votes. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhry with 1187 votes was elected vice president from Punjab, Ainuddin with 835 votes from Sindh, and Abdullah Kakar with 1140 votes from Balochistan.
Jamal Khattak from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had already been elected vice president unopposed. Abdul Majeed Khan was elected additional secretary with 923 votes by defeating Saleheen Mughal of Professional Group. Abdul Rasheed Qari won the election of finance secretary with 1022 votes.
The official results would be announced on Saturday.
