ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission probing the memo case Thursday rejected application of seeking former ISI chief Lt. Gen (R) Ahmad Shuja Pasha to appear before commission as a witness.
The hearing of memo commission was headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Esa.
First session of the hearing was held in camera in which the Director and Deputy Director of Foreign Office Pakistan briefed the commission regarding alleged use of secret diplomatic funds by former Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani last year.
The commission expressed its lack of confidence over the written note submitted by Hussain Haqqani regarding the utilization of secret diplomatic funds.
Then in the open session, Zahid Bukhari who is the counsel of Hussain Haqqani requested the commission to hand over him the video record of commission proceedings. Akram Sheikh who is the counsel of Mansoor Ijaz rejected this request and said Haqqani is not following the proceedings and is blaming the courts.
Zahid Bukhari said he has submitted details of the use of secret diplomatic funds to the commission but commission regarded it as only a piece of paper.
The commission also rejected application of PPP leader Raja Riaz because of not following the proceedings.
