MQM asks govt to refrain from confrontation
12 January, 2012
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as a coalition partner of the government 'through thick and thin' has given a friendly suggestion to the government to refrain from confrontation with the institutions and organisations of the country. The country is passing through a very critical phase and cannot afford any kind of confrontation and the supremacy of law and the Constitution be given top priority, says a statement issued by the party. All issues should be resolved through dialogue and this is in the larger interest of democracy and the country, it added. The MQM founder Altaf Hussain has approved the decisions of the MQM Rabita Committee. This was stated by the MQM in an announcement made after a five-hour joint session of the Rabita Committee in London held on Wednesday. In the end of the meeting the Rabita Committee offered fateha for the late Pir Sahib Pagara. End.
