01 January, 2014

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement's Sindh Assembly member Arshad Vohra escaped a cracker attack in Karachi's SITE industrial area on Tuesday.

Police said the MPA was on his way to his factory when unidentified miscreants riding two motorbikes lobbed a cracker on his vehicle near Siemens Chowrangi, causing a low-intensity blast.

Arshad Vohra and his bodyguard remained safe in the attack which slightly damaged the car. The attackers fled from the scene after the bodyguard's retaliation.

Earlier, a senior police officer, Bahauddin, was gunned down in the same area.

He had taken part in 1992 operation in the city.
