MQM MNA tortures journalist, shows fake attendance in NA

LAHORE: A member of National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Asif affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has reportedly tortured a journalist Akmal Ghumman with help of her bodyguard near a petrol pump in Lahore, media reported on Tuesday.
MNA Tahira Asif has allegedly involved in torturing a journalist Akmal Ghumman for parking an out-of-order car near a petrol pump located in the provincial capital of Punjab.
In order to prevent herself from the grip of legal consequences over her illegal move, she claimed her presence in the National Assembly's session on the day which reportedly found fake, senior journalist Umar Cheema tweeted.
In a series of tweets, Umar Cheema alleged that NA record shows Tahira Asif was in Assembly on September 27, 2013 (when the incident occurred) cell phone record establishes her presence at the venue of incident.
She has dissociated herself from the incident claiming that she was present in the National assembly session that day, investigative journalist 'Umar Cheema' said on his twitter account.
Akmal Ghumman, also wrote to MQM London Secretariat drawing attention to the incident but there was no reply from the party office.
While the beaten journalist was further punished, for pursuing the case by Director General Radio, who fired Mr. Ghumman.
Moreover, Information rights activists have demanded NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq to produce the CCTV footage of NA session to clear up the issue.
