ISLAMABAD, January 20 (Online): Senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmad has condemned the threatening tone of the U.S. President about military intervention in Iran.
Referring to the report published in The New Yorker by Seymour Hersh infiltration of US special forces inside Iran to destroy the Iranian nuclear establishment, he said that the report by one of the most well-connected journalists in America about is alarming.
Prof. Khurshid said it is lamentable that the US President has come out with a threatening statement just two days before his induction as President for the second term and continues issuing threat of military intervention in Iran. "The present US leadership is moving in a clandestine manner towards some kind of military intervention in Iran," he observed.
American aggression against Iran, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad maintained, must be treated as aggression not merely against a country but the entire Muslim World. Defence of Iranian nuclear establishment "would be a part of the defence of Pakistani nuclear establishment because if America gets license to destroy vital security assets of one country, this would open the door for violation of sovereignty and security of other countries," he said. "
The learned senator emphasized that it is imperative of our common defence that the government of Pakistan and other Muslim countries as well as the countries of the region should protest against American designs and use all possible means to keep this region safe from American aggression.
