LB polls: LHC seeks reply from Punjab govt for not implementing Article 62, 63

LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the Punjab government to submit a reply within 15 days for not implementing Article 62 and 63 in the by-elections.

According to media reports during case proceedings, petitioner's lawyer told court that Article 62 and 63 is not being implemented in the by-elections.

Resultantly, bank defaulters and those committing contempt of court could come into power. This will be violation of the constitution, he added.

Later, the court directed the government to submit a reply on the next hearing on Feb 12.
