HERAT: Four Afghan aid workers who were seized by unknown gunmen a few days ago were released yesterday, a health official said Monday.

The four workers of Red Crescent were freed following the efforts of local residents of Zinda Jan district, Habibullah Hayat, deputy director of Herat health department.

He told AIP that the kidnapped health workers were freed without any deal, adding the kidnappers did not release the vehicle of the health workers.

Unknown gunmen seized four Red Crescent workers including a doctor, two nurses and their driver on Oct. 14 in Shaharabad area of Ghoryan district.
