Karzai condemns killing of three Australians

KABUL (AIP): President Hamid Karzai condemned the death of three Australian troops by an Afghan army soldier and expressed deep shock over the incident.
A statement issued by presidential office here Thursday said the Afghan president who is in Tehran to attend NAM summit strongly condemned the incident and extended condolence to the families of the victims.
"This is the handiwork of the people who do not want Afghanistan has a strong army and police," the statement quoted the Afghan president as saying.
He said perpetrators of the attacks wanted to create mistrust between Afghan security forces and their international allies.
A man wearing Afghan National Army (ANA) uniform turned his weapon on Australian soldiers, killing three Australian troops before escaping.
