Karzai accepts credentials

KABUL: The Afghan President Hamid Karzai accepted the credentials of new Australian ambassador Jon Philip in a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Kabul on Thursday.

Both the leaders discussed expansion of ties in various fields between the two countries, a president's office press release available with the AIP stated.

Lauding the assistance of Australia with Afghanistan, President Hamid Karzai demanded of Jon Philip his country should expand cooperation in higher education of Afghanistan.
