01 March, 2013

KARACHI: Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Misbahuddin Farid has requested the Department of Irrigation to restore the water supply to Haleji Lake through Jaam Branch in order to ensure an alternate resource for Karachi.

MD KWSB made the request after a 7-hour visit of Haleji Lake. Deputy Managing Director Technical Services Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Deputy Managing Director Planning Mashkoor ul Hasnain, Chief Engineer Bulk Zafar Palejo and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.

Later on, MD KWSB said that water supplied to Karachi was through one source Kenjhar Lake and now for summers we were trying to establish alternate sources so that swift supply to the citizens of Karachi was ensured throughout the city.
