KESC office looted, deprived of 1 million

KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Monday has condemned the early morning robbery at Ferozabad Society Office on December 1.
According to a statement, a number of unidentified armed men broke into the KESC office at about 3am, thrashed the security guards on duty along with other staff and held them hostage.
During the unfortunate incident, all on-duty staff was deprived of about 18 mobile phones and cash. The armed men stacked material and wires of new connections of substation maintenance in a car (MTL JX 5208) and fled. Goods robbed in this incident were estimated to be worth more than Rs 1,000,000. The tracker company and relevant police station were informed of the incident by KESC without delay.
Later, according to reports, the KESC car was found 2 km away from Javedan Cement Factory on Manghopir Road. The power utility hopes that relevant authorities would conduct an investigation into the incident and arrest criminals.
