13 October, 2012
LAHORE: Jamatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed on Friday moved a petition before the Lahore High Court seeking directions for the government to approach the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against the anti-Islam film. He said that the movie attempted to malign the dignity of Muslims which was not good for world peace and everyone around the globe was bound to respect the religious sentiments of others. Saeed's counsel AK Dogar said the movie had created unrest among Muslims throughout the world and no action had been taken against the accused persons. He said President Obama told the United Nations General Assembly that he condemned the anti-Islam movie but he strongly defended the US constitutional protection of the freedom of expression. End.
