JUI-F wants PML-N's help to topple PTI's KP govt

ISLAMABAD: Jamiatul Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) of Maulana Fazalur Rehman is desperately trying to bring the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on board for its efforts to topple provincial government of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) in his home province KP. The JUI is keen to dislodge the provincial government through vote of no trust.
The Maulana had an important meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House on Thursday and reportedly discussed various political issues with him. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid was also present in the meeting.
The meeting lasted less than half an hour, and it took place on the desire of the JUI leader, but Jan Achakzai spokesman of the Maulana, insisted that the prime minister asked for the meeting.
While talking, he said that it was a 'fantastic' meeting where the situation prevailing in Balochistan and KP came under discussion. According to him the prime minister agreed to the analysis of Maulana Fazal that the performance of the two provincial governments is causing failure of the state but not only the local administration.
He especially referred to the KP government which has turned up to be failure in all respects, including on security issues. "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif endorsed the views expressed by Maulana Fazal," Jan Achakzai claimed. He said that such more meetings will take place where joint strategy would be chalked out to deal with the cropping up issues.
Meanwhile, well placed sources told this scribe that the Maulana is impatient to evolve common strategy to get rid the KP government. He offered services and use his good offices for initiating dialogue with Taliban. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif assured the Maulana that his government is sincere and serious for resolving the issues with Taliban through dialogue. Maulana Fazal also discussed the holding of Jirga for talks with the Taliban while Prime Minister Nawaz impressed the need to use the services of tribal leaders for such talks, the sources said.
It has been officially stated earlier that the prime minister held a detailed meeting with Maulana Fazalur Rehman and various political issues came under discussion with particular emphasis on the law & order situation and terrorism during the meeting. The prime minister reiterated that all the political parties have to work together for curbing the menace of terrorism. Maulana Fazalur Rehman offered fateha for the uncle of the prime minister, who died recently.
