JUI-F boycotts ANP-proposed APC
21 January, 2013
PESHAWAR: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazal group) announced on Sunday its boycott of the Awami National Party's proposed all-parties conference (APC), which seeks to forge a united front by all the political parties. "The ANP wants to cleanse its sins (through the APC) and we cannot share these sins by participating in the APC," JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman told media after attending a reference for late Qazi Hussain Ahmed. The Awami National Party decided to convene the APC after it lost its senior leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour to a terrorist attack in Peshawar last December. The JUI-F central ameer said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had the worst law and order situation and still governor's rule was not imposed in the province. "Whereas governor's rule has been imposed in Balochistan," he complained. Maulana Fazlur Rehman also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan, for demanding resignation of President Asif Ali Zardari. End.
