JIT constituted to probe Peshawar attack

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik, taking notice of the Peshawar blast, constituted a joint investigation team (JIT) on Monday to probe the incident. Five people, including two Americans, were reported killed and 19 others injured in a suicide attack outside the office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Peshawar on Monday morning. Malik also sought a report from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police inspector general. He said the team would be headed by the interior additional secretary and would include the Khyber Pakhtukhwa Police additional inspector general and FIA and IB representatives. The interior minister also condemned the attack. In a statement he said such incidents of terror could not deter the government's resolve to wipe out the menace of terrorism. End.
