JI warns of historic sit-in if NATO supplies restored
05 February, 2012
KARACHI: Jamaat-e Islami (JI) Pakistan General Secretary Liaquat Baloch has said that government's decision for restoring NATO supply would earn gross affront to the Pakistani nation. He said the government has already given a negative message to the people of Indian occupied Kashmir by declaring India as the Most Favoured Nation (MFN). "However, JI, as already intimated time and again, that the NATO supplies restoration move would compel the patriotic Pakistanis to stage a sit-in protest around the Parliament," he was addressing a workers' gathering at Idara-e Noor-e Haq regarding the public gathering under the banner of Difa-e Pakistan Council (DPC). Baloch said that the policies adopted by former dictator Pervez Musharraf and policies of present government and Army inflicted colossal damages to the country. The DPC was formed to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, said Baloch, adding that it was a good gesture that the political forces that had participated in the 'Long March' in condemnation to government's policies after the incident of 9/11 had once again united under the banner of the DPC. "These political forces and parties that have always taken a tough stance against the United States of America and policies of the present government that always tilted toward the US have joined hands under the DPC". He said that JI had from day one took a stance that the soil of Pakistan should not be used against the manslaughter of Afghan but the government did not show any sane response in that regard. However, the time has endorsed the rational standing of the JI. The US had deceived Pakistan by promoting terrorism in the country through Indian spy agencies and left no stone unturned to isolate the country. The government had at the behest of the US declared India as the MFN, which disseminated a negative message to the liberation movement of Kashmir, he claimed. He said that the JI's Go America Go had gained momentum across the country and it had become a movement for the territorial integrity of the country. The US has been defeated in Afghanistan and the Afghan war has ruined its economy, which is nearing collapse fast. The time has come that national policy for the country should be redefined and NATO supplies should not be restored or else the Parliament would see a historical sit-in protest, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Mahenti said that US was a real enemy of Pakistan and it was unavoidable to get rid of the US in order to resolve our domestic problems. The US wanted to avenge Pakistan on its defeat in Afghanistan but she should learn now that the Pakistani nations has already awakened and would defend the country diligently and courageously. End.
