Islamabad exempted from mobile service suspension

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that mobile phone service in Islamabad will not be suspended on Eidul Fitr.
Presiding a meeting of senior police officers in Islamabad on Monday, he directed the officials concerned to remove unnecessary checkposts in the capital.
However, he said the provincial governments could suspend cellular services according to their security requirements. The minister instructed the officials to improve security in the capital. He assured them that all possible steps would be taken to equip the Islamabad police with modern weapons.
