Iqbal's Shaheen... By Tariq

Late Air Commodore (retd) M. M. Alam was Allama Iqbal's Shaheen who made history on the very first day of the 1965 war by shooting down five Indian Hunters in 60 seconds. That was a time when Lahorites used to fearlessly rush to their roofs and streets to watch the dog-fights and salute their heroes. So were the national aspirations throughout the length and breadth of our country. How rightly and proudly Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum had said: Ay Puter Hattaun tey naei wikday". May his soul rest in peace. TARIQ ANWAAR
