SRINAGAR: Indian occupied Kashmir is completely shut down today due to several incidents of braid chopping being carried out by Indian agencies.
The strike was called by Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Yasin Malik to protest against the braid chopping as they labeled it as a conspiracy against the people of Kashmir.
More than sixty braid chopping incidents have been reported in the region.
It is reported that braid choppers either forcibly grab the women and cut their braids off or spray some chemical on the women’s faces and cut the unconscious victims braids off.
