India urged to grant right to self-determination

18 January, 2013

Srinagar: Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has urged India to grant the people of Kashmir their inalienable right to self determination.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India was continuously engaged in illegally occupying Jammu and Kashmir by denying people the right to decide their future by themselves through plebiscite.

APHC leader and Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja in an interview in Srinagar said that India was working on a well-hatched conspiracy to convert the Muslim majority population into a minority in the territory.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R, Farooq Ahmad Dar in a statement urged India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir dispute to ensure peace in South Asia.

The family members of illegally detained liberation leader, Mushtaq–ul-Islam said that Indian police had shifted him from Central Jail, Udhampur in Jammu to some unknown place. Mushtaq–ul-Islam is detained under black law, Public Safety Act.

A 22-year-old youth, Nasir Ahmed Dar was beaten to death by an India-backed Sarpanch at Sumbal in Bandipore.

In London, leaders and activists of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front held a protest demonstration in front of Indian High Commission to denounce award of life sentences to the Kashmiri youth by Indian courts.
