ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has once again failed to present evidences while recording his statement before election tribunal.

Talking to journalists at National Press Club, he said that Imran was once again exposed about speaking lies during cross examination. He said that when journalists asked him about proofs of rigging, hastly retreated towards his vehicle saying that proofs were in the bags which should be opened.

Pervaiz said that the struggle of the journalists during the dictatorial regimes would be written in golden words. He said that the sit-ins have defaced the picture of Pakistan. He said that while political workers and journalists were being lashed and sent to jails in their struggle against martial laws, Imran was running with cricket balls and working as an entertainer.

The minister said that it was because of the sacrifices of political workers that Imran was making speeches from the container. He pointed out that the PTI chief left Pakistan and joined the Kerry Packer circus for money. He said when opponent lawyers asked Imran as to why the PTI didn’t register the rigging complaint during polling, he replied that he had received wound in his head that’s why he forgot everything.

Over the issue of terrorism, the information minister said that there was a need to combat terrorism to ensure peace in Pakistan. Terming the terrorism the biggest issue of Pakistan, he vowed to root out any kind of militancy from Pakistan. He said that the state of Pakistan was fully resolved to eliminate all forms of terrorism from Pakistan.
