Improved Pakistané India ties critical for Afghan stability: Dobbins

WASHINGTON: The United States has asked India and Pakistan to resolve their differences on Kashmir dispute and Afghanistan.

US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan James Dobbins speaking before Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament in Washington said improved Pakistan-India relations are critical for Afghanistan stability.

He recognized that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's government has been trying to improve relations with both India and Afghanistan.

James Dobbins also acknowledged Prime Minister Sharif's statement that peace in Afghanistan and improved relations with India are important to Pakistan's security.
