Implementation of UNSC resolutions vital for peace: Masood
14 October, 2013
New York: Pakistan has called for implementing UN Security Council resolutions on international disputes without discrimination to promote rule of law and establish peace and stability in the world.
This was stated by Ambassador Masood Khan while taking part in a debate on rule of law at a General Assembly's Committee in New York, state media reported on Sunday.
He said selectivity in the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions is vitiating the global environment of peace and stability.
Masood Khan said this approach also erodes confidence in the system and undermines credibility of the organization.
He said the Security Council should utilize full potential of the International Court of Justice in the settlement of disputes.
