IDPs to be sent back by November: Governor KPK

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said on Friday that the Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) would be sent back to their homes by November this year.

Addressing a ceremony organised here in connection with the Annual Day of Red Crescent Society, the governor KPK said that the government was providing all possible facilities to the IDPs.

He said that Red Crescent was serving for the humanity and it has done a lot of relief work during the earthquake 2005 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.The Governor said about 150 years ago the tree of Red Crescent had planted and now it is providing shade for the whole community of the world.

He said from the beginning of Pakistan this institution always stood shoulder to shoulder with the nation in natural disasters. He prayed to Almighty to save this country from any natural disasters. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Red Crescent Dr Saeed Elahi said that the institution has 17 million volunteers in 192 countries across the globe. He said the Quaid-e-Azam was the founder of Red Crescent in Pakistan adding that the institution was serving independently, impartially and voluntarily in the country.
