I am a 'postman' between govt and the Taliban: Samiul Haq

05 January, 2014

ISLAMABAD: JUI-S chief Maulana Samiul Haq said on Saturday his role in peace talks with the Taliban is that of a postman.

"I want to tell the nation that it should not attach high expectations from me. I am a postman. I will deliver message to the Taliban and whatever their reply is, I will deliver it back to the government", he told a private TV channel.

"Nawaz Sharif gives no guarantee for stopping drone strikes but he wants the Taliban to lay down their arms and stop the war. This is ridiculous," Samiul Haq said.

End.
