Hurriyet leaders placed under house arrest

19 September, 2012

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, occupation authorities placed Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest to prevent them from leading the demonstrations.

Heavy contingents of police were deployed outside the residences of the leaders and were conveyed to stay indoor.

Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement condemned the restrictions imposed by the authorities, saying that putting Hurriyet leaders under house arrest was in contravention to the established democratic norms and humanitarian norms.

End.
