Historic building gutted in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The historic building of Bar Club Mansehra was gutted apparently due to short-circuit early Friday.
The fire tender reached the spot to extinguish fire but the mud and wooden facility which was constructed in 1934 was almost destroyed, said a lawyer. The furniture and other goods were also reduced to ashes but no loss of life was reported as nobody was there in the club at that time.
The Bar Club, named as Donald Bar before partition, was handed over to lawyers after partition and was used as entertainment facility by legal fraternity in the district. Deputy Commissioner Mansehra Zulfiqar Shah visited the building along with president of District Bar Association Munir Hussain Lughmani and Secretary General Tanveer Ahmad Deen. He assured the district administration's support in reconstruction of the historic building.
