KARACHI: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed to have recovered huge quantities of narcotics worth billions of rupees in the international market on Tuesday during the ongoing 'Umeed-e-Nau' operation.
According to ANF spokesperson, ANF Karachi has made the biggest seizer of the history at Qasim Port and recovered 375 kilogrammes of good quality heroin from a container, which was cleverly concealed in Oil Filters and in secret cavities of bathtubs destined to some African country. He said that the price of the recovered heroin in the international market is in billions.
"The said operation is part of operation Umeed-e-Nau, and five culprits have also been arrested during case investigation." The spokesperson said that further security has been tightened at airports, toll plazas, bus stands and railway stations to stop escape of absconders in different cases.
This operation Umeed-e-Nau against narcotic smugglers would continue until the law enforcement agencies have gotten rid of this illegal trade from the metropolis and the whole of Sindh, the spokesperson added.
