Heavy cache of explosives seized

QUETTA: A law enforcement agency (LEA) has seized heavy cached of explosives from a car at Balili checkpost on the outskirts of the city late on Tuesday.

LEA sources said that security personnel deployed at the checkpost signalled a car to stop, but the driver accelerated the vehicle and later abandoned it and fled when security forces gave chase.

During a search of the car, LEA personnel along with the Bomb Disposal Squad recovered explosives from it, in addition to 400 detonators, an explosive wire, a 200-meter roll, one explosive piece of cotton weighing 125kg, and 1500kg of ball bearings.
