Hajj director dies in mishap

KANDAHAR: The haj director of southern Zabul province was killed along with another man in a road accident in the Daman district of neighbouring Kandahar on Wednesday, officials said.

The incident took place at around 10:30am near Akhund Sahib Shrine, where Mohammad Anwar Sadat's vehicle collided with a car, Jawed Faisal, the governor's spokesman, told PAN.

Deputy Governor of Zabul Mohammad Jan Rassoul confirmed the incident, saying that Sadat was on his way to Kandahar to arrange flights for haj pilgrims.
