Gunmen shoot dead four policemen in Quetta

QUETTA: At least four policemen were shot dead in a gun attack in Satellite Town, Quetta, police said on Saturday. DIG Hamid Shakeel said that a police van was patrolling in Satellite Town Police Station area when armed men riding motorcycles intercepted the vehicle and opened fire on it. Three policemen, including ASI Ajab Khan and constables Abdul Rehman and Abdul Jabbar, died instantly while constable Dastageer died at Combine Military Hospital. "Three policemen died on the spot, while one expired at hospital," senior police official Zubair Mehmood told AFP. Doctor Noor Muhammad at the hospital confirmed the death toll. Separately, the FC recovered huge quantity of explosives near Pak-Afghan border on Friday night. According to an FC spokesman, two motorcyclists dropped two bags of explosives and fled when FC personnel tried to stop them for routine checking. The officials took the bags into custody the spokesman said. End.
