Group of extortionists nabbed in Quetta

QUETTA: CIA police on Wednesday busted a group of extortionists, which identified itself as Baloch Killer Group, said DIG (Investigation) Syed Mubin.
Addressing a press conference, Mubin said the Baloch Killer Group was collecting extortion by threatening people on the phone.
Following receiving complains, he added, police formed a team and launched efforts to capture the culprits.
"We raided a house in Killi Mubarak and arrested three armed men, including a police constable, and seized many guns, bullets and SIM cards," Mubin said and added that the arrested persons were identified as Arshad Ali, Akram Rajpoot and Khalid Ghuloo.
The DIG said the group was threatening people on the phone and throwing threatening notes at their residence.
"The group has collected around Rs 5 million in extortion from several people and many senior government officials and businessmen were also involved in this heinous crime," Mubin said.
He said the group operated in various cities and many FIRs have been lodged against it in many police stations. "I can assure people that the group has been eradicated and an investigation is ongoing," the DIG added.

Replying to a question about escalating incidents of kidnapping for ransom, the DIG replied that police have already pointed that only two groups are involved in kidnappings and soon they will be arrested.
Responding to Farooqiya Masjid's incident, he said that it was clearly a terrorist attack and the attackers are in the custody of police.
