Govt wants to provide various opportunities to youth: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said that youth of Pakistan are its greatest strength and the present government will ensure that the youth are gainfully employed.
While chairing a meeting to review the PM's Youth Programme here, the prime minister was briefed regarding all the features of the Youth Programme and it was informed that so far 350,000 feedbacks and suggestions have been received from the general public.
The premier directed that all valuable suggestions should be given due consideration and projects under the Youth Programme be launched as soon as possible. He said that the government wants to provide various opportunities to the youth including skilled education, trainings, employment and scholarships so that they could contribute positively in all fields.
While chairing another meeting on low-cost housing schemes, Nawaz said that government plans to construct 500,000 affordable housing units all over the country in five years time through public-private partnership. He directed that policy framework in this regard should be prepared by November 30. He further directed that land identification, survey and estimates for vertical and horizontal housing units be prepared in order to launch the scheme early.
He said that low-cost and affordable housing units would enhance the quality of life of the common man and would also provide employment opportunities, better sanitation, and social protection for the shelter-less.The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid.
