Govt wants all institutions to respect their domains: PM Gilani

15 January, 2012

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged all state institutions to play their due role, within their respective domains, to bring forth the best in promoting Pakistan's national interest.

He was addressing the meeting of the Defence Committee of the Cabinet (DCC), which was held at the Prime Minister's House.

Addressing the participants, the PM said that it was his government's policy to allow and enable all state institutions to play their role in their respective domains," he added.

He said the nation's strength was its institutions. Gilani assured that the government would do everything to strengthen its institutions with a view to enhancing their effectiveness and capacity.

The PM said the armed forces were a pillar of the nation's strength. "The nation applauds their heroic services in the defence of the motherland," he said, adding that civil institutions, on the other hand, had their due role to play for the socio-economic development of the country and for ensuring progress and prosperity. "Together, in complete harmony with each other and other vital institutions, we can change the country's destiny."

He said the government, parliament and patriots had stood behind the brave armed forces and security personnel, and that "there is complete national consensus that terrorism will not be allowed any space on the this soil".

"It has been our consistent endeavour to safeguard Pakistan's supreme national interests in a most effective and inclusive manner," the PM said, adding that the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable.

"We would reject any approach that would tend to compromise our sovereignty, honour and national dignity... Our contribution and steadfast commitment to stability and peace at home and in our region is unquestionable and second to none," he said.

The meeting was attended by the senior minister for industries and defence production, defence minister, foreign minister, finance minister, interior minister, information minister, chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, chief of army staff, air chief, naval chief, principal secretary to the PM, cabinet secretary, foreign secretary and the Intelligence Bureau director general.

Reader Comments:

This respect should take the form of criticising the army in China, complaining to British High Com. about Kayani going for coup, inviting Mullen to act as the new Viceroy, offering Obama and Bush deals for their help in keeping the PLUNDER PAKISTAN PARTY in power by such means as Memogate and Operation Blue Tulsi, refusing to implement the supreme court's verdics, looting the country in any way possible, giving wives 'loans' in billions, getting sons and other relatives to rob the Hajis, and so on and so forth.

When all this is done, give youselves honorifics like Supreme Leader, SHAHEED (for both Shaheed & Shaheedah!), Mohtarama, etc. And do not forget to give posthumously to Iskander Mirza the title GREATER QUAIDE-E-AZAM because that is what our lord and master ZAB had called him, and like him to insult and humiliate every decent man in the country, especially those who (like Yahya Khan) have been kind to you!
