Govt to develop rural,urban areas of Sindh: Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the federal government is focusing on the development of both rural and urban areas of Sindh.
He was talking to Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair, who called on the premier at the PM's House on Friday.
According to a press statement issued after the meeting, the premier said his government had initiated several projects for the people of Sindh, including those pertaining to the energy, infrastructure and social sectors. "With mutual consensus of all stakeholders, we acted for bringing peace to Karachi," he said, adding that the situation of law and order had substantially improved in the city.
The premier further stated that the federal government was working on various energy projects in Sindh, including the Port Qasim Power Project, Engro Coal Power Project, Jhimpir Wind Energy Project and the Thar Mine Mouth Oracle project.
He recalled that last week he inaugurated the completed section of the Karachi-Hyderabad motorway (M9) to facilitate the people of Sindh. "We have also included the Karachi Circular Railway project in the CPEC, while work on the Green Line Mass Transit project is in full swing."
The premier also said that K4 water project and Lyari Expressway project were also being supported by the federal government.
He told the Sindh governor to play an instrumental role and act as a bridge between the federal government and the Sindh government so that development initiatives were effectively implemented in time.
The Sindh governor thanked the premier for reposing trust in him and stated that he would perform his duties for the benefit of the people of Sindh. He also promised to further strengthen the link between the federal and the provincial governments.
Separately, Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri called on the premier and the two exchanged views on the ongoing uplift projects and political situation in the province.
